This is a frequent fallback place for our family, as it's right in our neighborhood. We have eaten there or gotten takeout many times. There are some good things about the place, but it could be so, so, so much better. Boring, starchy appetizers, and salad is sort of a joke. Fries are greasy, prefabriated frozen steak fries. Boring sides - and no greens! Meals come with cornbread (pretty good but a little too sweet) and baked beans (avoid if you any long meetings scheudluled for the next day, or intend to share a bed with anyone over the next 48 hours). Good babybacks, but only 1 sauce/style. The Texas sausage is pretty good. Steaks and brisket are just okay. Beef spare ribs are way too fatty. Don't bother with the grilled shrimp - utterly flavorless, small ones that have been frozen forever. Why a grill place in a location like this wouldn't have a rockin' selection of FRESH grilled and blackened fish - tuna, salmon, sword, lobster - is beyond me. The southwest chicken and BBQ half chicken are good bets. The burgers and grilled chicken sandwiches are also reliably good, but that's not what I'm looking for in a BBQ joint. Table space isn't great - get one by the window, if you can. Beer selection is pretty boring, especially when you consider this is Brookline and people will happily spend more for quality brews. Service is consistently friendly and generally pretty efficient, the dining room is clean, and they always have the game on in the bar. But I doubt I'd ever go back if it wasn't so handy when we need a quick dinner for our kids.

some mean ribs! it's so meaty and flavorful. i also recomment their homemade stuffed jalapenos. it's out of this world!
