Vee Vee - worth the trip
I'm a tourist from South Carolina staying with relatives in JP. I thought I'd have to go downtown for a special dinner. Instead, we went to the newly opened Vee Vee on Centre Street and was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was warm and sophisticated - a combination hard to attain. The food we had was delicous, presented with enough flair to know you wouldn't do this at home - but wish you did! We had the cod and the linguine for entrees and the romaine salad and fritter for appetizers and were very happy with our choices. Make reservations a few days ahead if you can - they reserve half of the tables and leave half for walk-ins. So if you decide at the last minute - go anyway - you may get a table right away if you go early. And if you go later it's worth the wait. The bar boasts a great selection of interesting wine and beer.
