My friends and I were visiting Boston this weekend and decided on Uni to celebrate a friend's birthday. We had 9pm reservations on a Saturday night only to find out our table was not ready when we arrived and was told it would be a 10 min wait. It turned out to be an hour wait and when they did give us a table, it was at Clio instead. We told them we had the reservation at Uni not Clio. They told us Uni was full and there was no table for us. We would have had to wait, again until a table became available. We were starving at this point and we suggested to them if we could dine at the bar instead until a table was available for us. It was not an ideal setting for dinner but we had to make do. When we were finally seated at a table in Uni, it was 10.15pm. At about 11pm, the waiter came to us to let us know it was last call from the kitchen and that we would have to place any final orders. We felt rushed through our dinner and when we told this to the manager, we were told there was nothing else they could do for us and that we were lucky to have gotten a table in the first place!!!!! Did they forget we HAD a reservation???? We found the manager to be very rude and what was suppose to be a birthday celebration with friends turned out to be a night of long waits and terrible service. The only saving grace of the night was the good food. However, I would not go back and risk getting their bad service again. There are many other restaurants out there that will serve great food and service to go with it.

A small sushi bar makes for a wonderfully cozy date. Service is exceptional. The dishes are inventive, fresh, and light. We had the day's special sea perch with yuzu foam and thinly sliced fig, which was absolutely magnificent. We also had the yellowfin tuna ceviche, perfectly flavored with coconut and lemongrass, and hamachi sashimi. My date had the uni spoon and said it was perfect and very smooth. We also had the oysters and soft shell crab tempura, but these were not as to die for as the the rest of the dishes. All said, a very good dining experience.
