Thornton's Fenway Grille
Posted by KML on 11/19/2013
Thornton's is a great neighborhood grille/pub with excellent food and a congenial atmosphere. They don't get much write-up in the press and that's too bad. Maybe they like it that way. But the food is always quite good. They even have tasty healthy choice items. The rib-eye steak is fantastic and their tuna dishes and baked scrod are very fresh. The staff is great too. This is a nice place to really relax for a bit if not on game nights then certainly on non-game nights. They just get busy when the Sox are in town and that's understandable. I highly recommend this place. Cheers to their return!

So sad to read about the devistating fire that took the entire Peterborough Street block and especially sad that Thorntons is no longer there. Back in the day that was the place for BCNers to hang and Marty and Bud were great hosts.

The fire that recently started atThornton's and also destroyed a half dozen nearby restaurants was a tragedy. Thornton's was a great casual restaurant that will be missed.

My friends and I have frequented Thorntons since our freshman year. This place is great for the location, price, and atmosphere. If you are looking for nice dinner with the family your at the wrong place. If you are out with some college buddies, looking for a decent place to get drinks, and burgers then you have found your graceland. Thorntons is to Emmanuel College as "The Max" is to Bayside High (saved by the bell) if you dont know what im talking about you are either too old or too young!
