    Dissatisfied Customer

We patronized The Hill a dozen or so times this year. Our son and daughter-in-law live four blocks from the restaurant, so The Hill has been our go-to eatery. Unfortunately, I doubt we'll continue to dine there. Friday, August 24th, we went to the restaurant as a party of seven. The waitstaff was wonderful, the food was not. Out of seven dinners, two were great, three were good, and two were inedible. The salmon(no longer found on the menu), ordered by two of us, was too dry to eat. We each took one bite from our plates, looked at each other in surprise, and dropped our forks. We have eaten the salmon there on at least six different occasions and it was always delicious! Not this time! Not only was the salmon unpalatable, but the accompanying asparagus we had requested was useless too. The asparagus was enormous. Never have I seen such huge asparagus stalks. Unfortunately, they were tough beyond imagination. We tried a few different pieces (each end and a piece from the middle) but the entire stalk was impossible to chew. The waitperson offered to have two more salmon dinners cooked for us, but we declined. By that time, the others in our party were nearly finished with their meals, so the dining experience was pretty ruined. I doubt that we'll go back there. (Maybe it was an off day???) Whatever...the management should have inquired into our dissatisfaction, at least showing some degree of interest in the quality of the food , but he/she did not. I can't see any of us eating there again.

    Best chicken parm sandwich!

I just had the Hill Tavern's new chicken parm sandwich and it was the best chicken parm I've ever had in Boston. The food at the Hill is generally a cut above standard pub faire, but the chicken parm is a real stand out.
