The Half Shell Pizza

Having ordered takeout pizza every weekend while at HBS I really recommend The Half Shell above all others (extensively!) tried. They delivered delicious pizza, hot, on time, with substantial, tasty side dishes and thoughtful things like ketchup and plates. The man who took my order on the phone was just lovely. I wish I had found them weeks ago!! Use Half Shell people! They are the best by far!

Certainly the best I've had here. Astoria-quality. Extremely generous with the meat, and directly cut (as opposed to the frozen slabs on the griddle that you get at most places around here). And they pronounce it correctly: yeer-o not jie-ro! Everything else I've had there is great, too. The lentil soup is outstanding. Great people: a real family-run operation you love to support!

*but* it is indeed true. For that warm fuzzy feeling you get when you find a "hole in the wall" restaurant where the food tastes homemade (or better in my case), then go with Half-Shell. Again, not glamorous, there's better food out there. But the value as a function of the quality can't be found in many other places. Hope this helps ;)

The only way to find fault with the food and service at Half-Shell is if one has unreasonable expectations. No, it isn't fine-dining but for what it is it's amazing. Terrific pizza, excellent subs and sandwiches, friendly staff, etc. Half-Shell is awesome!

They are quick, delicious, and are an incredible value. Their Large subs are enormous and very inexpensive.

I order delivery frequently, and Half-Shell is my go-to joint for pizza, pasta, calzones, subs, you name it, they probably make it, and make it extremely well. The delivery service is fast and reliable; the food arrives fresh and on time. The staff is very friendly. Really an exemplary model of delivery service and food. I highly recommend it.

The food is very good and reasonably priced. The people who work here are very kind and it's always a pleasure to order from them.
