*but* it is indeed true. For that warm fuzzy feeling you get when you find a "hole in the wall" restaurant where the food tastes homemade (or better in my case), then go with Half-Shell. Again, not glamorous, there's better food out there. But the value as a function of the quality can't be found in many other places. Hope this helps ;)

The only way to find fault with the food and service at Half-Shell is if one has unreasonable expectations. No, it isn't fine-dining but for what it is it's amazing. Terrific pizza, excellent subs and sandwiches, friendly staff, etc. Half-Shell is awesome!

They are quick, delicious, and are an incredible value. Their Large subs are enormous and very inexpensive.

I order delivery frequently, and Half-Shell is my go-to joint for pizza, pasta, calzones, subs, you name it, they probably make it, and make it extremely well. The delivery service is fast and reliable; the food arrives fresh and on time. The staff is very friendly. Really an exemplary model of delivery service and food. I highly recommend it.

The food is very good and reasonably priced. The people who work here are very kind and it's always a pleasure to order from them.

I frequently visit this place. Great food at great prices. They have 24-hour breakfast items, great subs and sandwiches and excellent pizzas. In my opinion, they have the best pizza in Cambridge/Somerville region in their category. The owners are nice to their customers too.

half shell is the BEST delivery place for subs in the cambridge area. i especially recommend the chicken Parmesan, but always get the large because its only one dollar more. the delivery 'half shell guy' is the absolute man, on time and amiable.
