Based on the recommendations from a patron at the bar and bartender, we tried the carmel popcorn with bacon. It was good but not to die for as we were told. Just like carmel corn but with bacon bits? Interesting, but a little over the top. The dinners and dessert on the other hand were delicious. My friend had the roasted chicken which was perfectly roasted with crisp skin and tender meat. The boiled New England dinner was absolutely delicious. Tender meat, in season, local vegetables. The dessert - delish. New place with great food, nice ambience if not a little crowded and noisy at the bar.

A friend and I popped into the bar for a drink, couldn't resist a couple apps--so yummy! And the service was AMAZING. Someone give those bar tenders a raise! LOVED the drinks. They were so new and different, but so very yummy. highly recommended--perhaps my new favorite neighborhood spot.

After salivating over The Gallows' menu online, I was excited to try this new South End restaurant/bar last night. My friend and I started with a refreshing watermelon cocktail that was perfect and not too sweet. We split an order of the traditional poutine. I thought it was really good; the friend has liked the fries used to make poutine at other places more. I guess it's a matter of taste. For entrees, I had the steak salad and was informed that was a new addition to the menu. It was delicious and perfectly portioned. My friend had the half chicken and liked it as well. We had planned to order the bowl of mussels too, but were already full before we go to that. The service was timely and we never had to want for anything. The menu looks really enticing and I will definitely be coming back soon to try more dishes.
