Expensive mistake
Party of 6 went for a nice meal in the North End. Service was borderline poor. Food was expensive and barely edible. Ordered a $40.00 ribeye that was not good at all. Gnocchi mushy and pasta overcooked. To top it off a 20% tip was added to the outrageoous bill. We complained, and they served us a free desert and limoncello that was not any better than the meal. Do not go.

Really a poor value
We had heard and read so much about Terramia that we finally made a reservation strolled over there one Friday evening. It was hugely disappointing. The lobster appetizers truly had no taste whatsoever. My wife's gnocchi were mushy and my chop was overdone. The waiter's wine choice was excellent. Although the rest of his service could have used a good kick in the butt There was a group of five people a few tables away that should have been told to kick it down a notch or two...maybe even asked to leave. If our experience was typical of this restaurant.

Let's Be Reasonable Here, Folks
I saw that Terramia won Citysearch's Best Italian for three years running, so I figured it was worth a shot. And while it's not bad, I'd hate to think that this is the best Italian restaurant in Boston. Terramia is small and packed, but that's fine: it doesn't pretend to be elegant and it's certainly not. Service was good, but far from exceptional, and considering how tiny the place is, it wouldn't have hurt to have our waiter pay a bit more attention to us. Had an antipasti appetizer for two for starters. It was rather skimpy but it tasted fine. I had a veal chop which was perfectly servicable. Potatoes on the side were a bit undercooked. My GF had a crab and lobster risoto. The seafood was cut in to such tiny pieces that it was a bit disappointing. Terramia doesn't serve dessert, which I knew beforehand, but is still kind of annoying. So many of the decent dessert places in the area are packed on a Friday night - lines out the door - and it's just a hassle to go for coffee and dessert. Terramia is perfectly serviceable, but the best in Boston? I sure hope not.
