I went there for lunch and i ordered this bowl of sushi rice with different types of fish on it. It was really good, I liked it a lot, the price was okay. The portion was smaller than i expected but it was fulling. The waitor just kinda stood there and gawked, kinda awkward. For some reason there weren't that many people that day, so it was kinda awkward talking to my friend since the place was small and voices do travel. Would recommend for lunch, not dinner tho.

Sometimes the service can be slow if you're with a large group and get seated in the back room. But it's worth the wait and if you're only with one or two people, the service is great. Pricey, but great food!

This is truely good sushi. The freshness of the fish and the size of the pieces in the rolls are great. Perhaps in Boston I could go someplace that I couldn't afford and get more creative dishes, but I'm not sure that's true. For freshness, flavor, creativity, and pleasing presentation, I rate this place very high. Compared to lesser places in the area, Takemura is very reasonably priced.

While we still miss Roka, Takemura is an imaginative and excellent restaurant. Their lunch specials change daily, are filling, & are a good value, as is the kaisendon (available only at lunch), a mix of sushi rice, chopped bits of tuna, egg, tofu, &flying fish roe. We've tried nearly all of the special maki & always have a hard time choosing. As restaurants go, it's relatively quietthat is, it's possible to carry on a conversation. It's not fancy, but it's attractive.

Best that I've found in Harvard Square. Best ever? No, but it's worth a trip. Good service, food, atmosphere...

I eat here every chance I get... it's where my friends and I go when we're in the mood for a treat!
