Incredible Experience
My son and I were in Boston for a rowing competition. On Saturday night we dined at Sportello with our friends from Cambridge. We are from NYC and have had our share of great Italian food. We have dined at other B Lynch restaurants and have had a good, not great experience. We were not prepared for Sportello. On the third floor of an old commercial building the place looks like an upscale modern diner, complete with counter, stools and a few tables. We ordered apps plus pastas. When every dish was over the top perfect, we just kept ordering. Each dish was better than the last. Best carbonara ever. Little pockets, like tortelloni of Epoisses cheese was a knockout. Best food I have ever had in Boston in 30 years. Server was great, very helpful and found an unusual red wine when the one we chose was out. If the next day wasn't Valentine's Day would have gone back for lunch. Can't wait to return! Amities Gourmandes, Ally's Dad

Fabulous food and service
I met 4 friends for dinner here, and it was an awesome experience. I wish I could give the service more than a 5, our server, an awesome woman who's name escapes me, totally hooked us up with great items and just a wonderful presence. We all decided we had a little bit of a girl crush on her... We had a bajillion questions, and the menu changed yesterday, and she knew everything and really steered us in the right direction! We left a lot of the decisions up to her and she really didn't disappoint. The celery and fennel salad was awesome--so light and crisp. I would eat it every day. The beet salad was also amazing. Another friend had the risotto which got raves as well--but I'm allergic to scallops so no taste testing for me. For the entrees, we had the gnocci---my favorite of the night it was rich and flavorful and perfectly cooked, the epoisses ravioli which was lovely and strong, the swordfish which was both light and hearty with beans and mussels, and the scallops and shrimp--which people seemed to really enjoy. We ended things with the sea salt cake, gelato, and cookie plate, and one of my friends said the chocolate cake with sea salt was the best thing she's ever had. So, all in all, fabulous. And we had 2 bottles of wine. Our bill with tip was about $65/pp, so not bad at all!!! I thought the lighting was a little strong for dinner, but it was a wonderful experience! I heartily urge people to try this one out!!

Great dinner!
Casual and cool with refined cuisine. We experienced a very comfortable evening, the decor is upscale, white nuovo coffee shop (countertop) although they have a few small tables. The service was top of the line and our waitperson really knew the menu- preparations, etc. I'd return!
