Decent food, atrociously rude service
I want to like Silvertone. The food is pretty good, and it's not to expensive considering the location. However, I've never seen a place as hostile to its customers as this one. The menu has all sorts of little "rules," if one of your friends joins you later they aren't allowed to order food. You're not allowed to get iced tea for dinner even though they have it at lunch (so you know they have it in the back at dinnertime as well). Call to find out if there's a wait and you'll get a snotty refusal, or they'll lie to you and tell you there's no wait and then you get there a couple miuntes later and the place has a 45 minute wait going. The bottom line is these people have a lot to learn about the hospitality thing, and seem to have forgot that customers are not the enemy.

Downtown Favorite
Silvertone is great all around. The food is delicious and well priced. The wine list is excellent when in the mood for an intricate dining experience and the cocktails are superb when just out on the town. Although the hostess could be a bit more friendly, the staff is great. I would highly recommend this place, whether out for a fancy feast, or just in the mood for drinks and appetizers.

Fun Place
Silvertones is one of my new favorites. The prices are great, the food is good and the restaurant definitely has a fun exciting vibe. I suggest starting with the goat cheese crustini or the rochester style wings. They do tend to overcook their burgers and steak so be aware of that. The only bad thing is that they don't do take out. Overall, great place and a great deal!

Don' t tell your friends
This place is terrific. Food a good buy and well prepared. Drinks well priced and poured. Wine list interesting and best buy in town. Don't tell your friends - this place is already popular enough. Let's keep this jewel to ourselves.

Great for a date!
I went here on a first date, and it was perfect. It wasn't too dark ,noisy or arrogant. I ony had an appetizer, the bruchetta, since I was not that hingry. It was okay, but the steak tips lloked great and I keep hearing about the mac and cheese...I'll definitely go back. And with the best priced wine list in town, who wouldn't want to go back?

Disagree!
I just have to respond to the person who said that Silvertone reminds them of places in New York, and then said that the food at Silvertone is 'a tad on the high side.' Most of the food at Silvertone averages around $8-10. I think the most expensive entree is $15. That's what you pay for a burger in The Village! Also don't get what he means by 'erratic hours.'
