    hungry on the hill

We live in the neighborhood and order often. It's the best bad chinese food around - we just love it! When no one else will deliver and it's snowing like crazy, you can always count on Shangri La!

    Medicore chinese food

We live in the neighborhood and stopped in to try it for lunch on a Sunday. Drink menu was extensive so we tried a scorpion bowl. It tasted like old fruit punch. The food was very greasy and oily. The egg rolls were good, and the orange beef was okay. Crab rangoons were overfried and the filling lacked flavor. General Gao's chicken was not good at all; very heaviily breaded and fried, the sauce very sweet and a gloppy consistency, not spicy at all.

Hit the buffet and the cocktail lounge

As far as buffets go in this town, you can't miss Shangri-La's lunch feast. Unlimited noodles, fried rice, broccoli in come sauce, sweet and sour pink sticky fried pork things, and my person fave, big thick eggrolls. All for under $8, and it includes hot tea and a fortune cookie. But the best part, not to be missed, is the cocktail lounge. Try a Suffering Bastard, a Zombie, or share a Volcano with a friend. (There's a 2 drink limit on the Zombie, however, as it's pretty potent.) If you're really looking to get lit, order a "50 Gallon." You must order it at the bar though. It's not on the menu, but it kicks ass. You'll pass out after 3, guaranf*nteed.

    Ah the shang

The Shang is a great place to go drunk. Go to the bar in the back and enjoy a budweiser. Pretty damn quick service with mediocre to good food. best drunk chinese you will ever eat.
