Expensive
mediocre food, tiny place, and super expensive considering that this place receives most of its business from lunch goers in the Financial District. They might as well be in Fanueil Hall and rip the tourists off.

Underwhelming
The food here really isn't as good as you would expect. I've eaten at quite a few Thai places, and this one's food is pretty bland at times, or even overseasoned. At almost $10, this is one of the more expensive take-out meals available in the area during lunch hours, and not quite as tasty as you'd think.

Thumb’s up!
I’ve been going to Rock Sugar Thai Café since May 2008. Everything I’ve tried has been delectable and I’m really enjoying working my way through the menu… (although my “usual” is the very spicy Chicken Madness). As a gritty NYC expatriate, this is what we would call a “hole in the wall joint” and with such great food, there is absolutely nothing derogatory implied in that description. Rock Sugar clearly is not intended to be a “classy” place where you would take a client to lunch their focus is where it should be… excellent food. If you want great “atmosphere” and table service, go somewhere else. I always do takeout and I’ve finally learned to call ahead… after all, for most dishes, they’re going to make it just for you, and that takes time. The staff has always been polite and friendly (and often cheery) with me. (I brought a jar of their salsa back to the office and it was very popular… not too spicy but with a satisfying twang.)

Good food, not so good service
The restaurant serves excellent food, but has terrible service. It has also become pricey of late. Unpleasant experience to eat there, and I would recommend ordering for pick up, only. Delivery times are awful, orders at the restaurant itself are also awful as it takes them 20 to 30 minutes some times to fulfill you order. They're not apologetic and sorry in any shape or form. It is a shame because the food is good.

Decent food but lousy service
I've been to this place a few times before I suggested to coworkers we get lunch delivery. I called at 11 for delivery around noon for a meeting. We didn't get the food until after 1 pm. When I called to complain, they were neither apologetic nor had a reasonable excuse. The only thing the woman on the phone offered was that the delivery guy had to first go and deliver an order in South Boston and then come back to us. I literally work 5 mins away. That made no sense. It's unfortunate that there isn't another decent Thai place nearby that can give them some competition. Even when you go there, orders take forever and they act like you aren't a customer but as if they're doing you a favor.

Skimpy Food for Outrageous Prices
Ordered a "House Specialty". Garlic and Pepper Beef which in reality was more like Beef with Mixed Vegetables. I had only a single piece of pepper and the beef was dry. The portions are outrageously small. My dish came out to about $10 and more than half was rice. Even if the beef portion was doubled it could scarcely be called a value.
