Nothing to write home about
For what it costs, and proposes to be, the food should be better. It's not bad-they use good ingredients, make complicated things.. but neither myself nor my dining companion commented on anything being delicious. It was just.. nice. Enjoyed our snotty waiter throughly. He kept my wine glass full.

How can you not like this restaurant?
I've been to Pigalle three times and am surprised by reviews that don't like the restaurant. The wait staff are always helpful (not pretentious at all), atmosphere and music is perfect, the wine selection is great, and the food is usually great. One time I left a mushroom risotto half-eaten and when asked by the wait staff I casually mentioned I didn't care for it and why...lo and behold the risotto was removed from the bill and a few bite-size desserts arrived as an apology. Best time to go is after the theater crowd so expect a large and noisy bunch if you go before 8 PM. And Pigalle has the best duck with blueberry sauce I've ever tasted! Wish it was always on the menu.

Best meal in boston...
high end, very formal yet still comfortable. Tasting menu with the wine is well worth the splurge

Overrated
A disappointment. Better French/contemporary food exists in Boston area. Waitstaff can be snobby, too.
