Expected more, but it was ok
Went to Oceana for restaurant week, though we didn't order the pre-set restaurant week menu because it featured red-meat and shellfish, which none of us wanted. I expected great atmosphere; this place had a lot of hype and is right on the water, but though the restaurant was nearly empty (and yet we weren't able to book our res. any earlier or later), we were seated way into the interior of the place (away from the windows) and the only view was obscured by a mess of stuff.. I chose this place primarily for the ocean view and was sorely disappointed. I had the spinach/ricotta manicotti, (one of the few things on the menu that wasn't pork, red meat, or shellfish), and it was was a long/wide piece of homemade pasta wrapped around a LOT of cheese. The sauce was delicious marinara/cream sauce, the spinach was really fresh and al dente, and though the cheese was a bit much, I really enjoyed this dish. Friends got a variety of other dishes; Friend 1 claimed his veal was overcooked, Friend 2 said her salmon was extremely "fishy." They were not impressed. We literally saw our waitress twice, once to take our orders and again to give us the check. Never got my drink refilled. Very pricey, at $22+ an entree, and portions were inconsistent (my dish was huge, but Friend 2 and 3 had planned to share theirs, and weren't really able due to its puny size). Not really worth the money.
