zero atmosphere
My husband and I were looking forward to finishing off our day in town tonight with a good meal in a relaxing atmosphere but were very disappointed . We were seated in an area right next to the small bar which was quiet when we were seated but when another person joined the group it became hard for my husband and I to have a conversation. Complaints to the waitress did no good. Opt for outside seating if you want to enjoy your meal. Get rid of the bar!!!

The Best
Planned a 60th Birthday celebration. The service was great from start to finish. We had a private room downstairs. Would not go any place else in the North End to eat . Because I believe Mother Annas is the best

Great place to dine
The food was wonderful. Veal Parm was great. Eggplant Parm wonderful. I forget what our other friends had but they loved it. One of the nice things was that they did not try to sell you an expensive bottle of wine that you really did not want. Salads and bread were good and the list of appitizers was extensive. Our reservation was right on time even though they were extremely busy. We will go back soon. One of the best Italian restaurants in Boston and very fairly priced.

Used to be a favorite
This was a favorite spot for years, always enjoying the eggplant parm (thinly cut, lightly breaded). Then on a night entertaining 6 out of town guests, we were seated in a downstairs room which we thought would be ideal for privacy. However, when the roaches started their dance up the walls, the luster fell off the rose. Realizing the building is ancient and roach problems are prevalent in old buildings, seeing them during dinner left a bad impression and somewhat red-faced hosts.

The best in the North End
I have lived all my life in Boston and I have been to Mother Anna's 5-6 times a year for the last 40 years and not once have I been disappointed or any of my guests. I recommend the the Chicken Creation for two.

Charming old world dining
Mother Anna's is a gem in a sea of overpriced North End places. The decor is simple, old world, and not pretentious, but the food is superb and the service always polite and friendly. I think this place is great and always send people here. The food and service really shine here...give it a try and you will not be disappointed.
