Wow
Very nice restaurant to empty your pockets. I mean really, prices are just ridiculous and almost insulting. Wouldnt come here again or recommend it.

absolutely fantastic!
I have been looking for a good persian restaurant in Boston for a year. Moby Dick has it all: GREAT food, nice atmosphere, nice value for your dollars, and very good service. The owner is very charming and really cares of you. The place is very clean and this is a great plus! They also do deliveries at night from 10.00pm till 2.30am in the morning on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. I have visited several persian restaurants around the world and I would say this one ranks among the top.. definitely recommended! Try their Ghormeh Sabzi, it's one of the best you could ever try!!

Wish I had discovered it sooner!
Some things: 1. Everything here is fresh and organic. Moti (owner) purchases everything from Whole Foods. This may explain the pricing issue other reviewers had, but I'll pay the bit extra for good healthy food. 2. It looks like a hole in the wall. Seriously, the decor leaves much to be desired indoors and outdoors. That being said, don't judge the place on that. 3. It's GREAT food. I discovered it by accident, and I;m glad I did. It's traditional, mouth-watering, AMAZING Persian food. Not to miss! 4. Moby Dick was an old kabob house in Tehran. Now kabob houses everywhere called themselved Moby Dick in keeping with that tradiation. It's a weird name at first glance, but is a fun little story. Ask the family that owns the establishment, they're very nice and will explain it in greater detail.

Seriously, why so much?
Like others have pointed out, it's way too little, for way too much. Got a C+ kebab, with overcooked rice for 18$. Minty, runny yogurt on the side, and a stale bread. Wish they would try a little harder, and drop the prices in half...

Persian Food at its Best
There are few Persian restaurants in Boston, and we're not sure why? Many of the foods are the early recipes for other cultures, Greek, Turkish, all foods "mediterranean" and many european dishes. It's fun to order and then realize you're having a potato pancake and a lentil dish that scream Eastern Europe. And the signature ingredients of rose water, mint, fresh basil, yoghurt, and all that butter, makes you realize how refined a culture and wonderful the traditional recipes are because these are the real deal. The owner/cook is magnificent and will explain the foods and preparation. She makes her own yoghurt from an ancient culture. She makes her own rose water from hips and petals. Love this place!

Reasonable food but pricey
Food is good but for a basically take out with noi table service it is exepnsive. Try Molana in Watertown. Molana is BYO.
