A South End favorite
This is my favorite place to go for weekend brunch. They're also open an hour earlier than nearby restaurants, which, if you're an early bird with a demanding stomach, is a big plus. I also favor this place for dinner; the risotto of the day never disappoints. Good value for money. Not a large dining room, so reservations are recommended for dinner.

Perfect for brunch
I met friends here the other day for brunch, it was casual, seriously yummy, and really fun. I had an omelet that was amazing, a friend had french toast that she loved, another had the grits and loved them. 5 happy girls. When does that happen?

Best Sunday Brunch spot
Unfortunately, I discovered this cafe just as I was moving out of town, but it is the one place I return to everytime I come back. The food and service are well worth the wait. My favorites are the grits and chorizos if you're there for brunch. The crowd is lively, and the servers are friendly.

Better than restaurants twice the price
Metropolis Cafe is fabulous-it is better than restaurants twice its price- I have never had a bad meal here-or even one that was not stellar. Their rissoto of the day is always great and their salads are fresh and unusual. Try their calamari appetizer and their horseradish crusted salmon. The dessert selection is great, They have both a crumble and a crisp, not to mention a great bread pudding. Their wines by the glass are always excellent-They don't just save the good stuff for the bottle buyers!
