Why take reservations if you can't keep them? Despite the fact that we had a 6PM reservation, we were not sat until after 7PM. We had to be at a show at the TD Garden at 7:30, but the staff could not have cared less. They were callous, disorganized, and all around unfriendly. Many other tables were put ahead of us so that they could squeeze as many tops in as possible. I am not sure if the food was actually good, but at that point I was so hungry broken glass would have tasted like filet Mignon. Horrible experience, and I would never go back or recommend to others. There are too many great restaurants in the n. end that will treat you better.

We have been comming here for several years now. The last two times we have had a negitive experience. The first time we had a reservation and had to wait and hour. This past Saturday the server was poor as well as the food. The server pushed the expensive wine and food and we felt if we did not go with his suggestions he would not like it. We saw him make a hand suggestion to the other server that we had bucks. When the food came it was poor tasting. Very surpised becasue we have had good tasting food before. The server was a big turn off.

My husband and I visited Massimino's during March 2009 with our married granddaughter. Sal was our waiter, he was fantastic, fun, friendly, efficient, and the food was wonderful. I mentioned the beauty of my husband's plate, Sal asked "would you like to have one?" and a few minutes later a fresh, clean plate was given to me as a souvenir. I would encourage visitors to Boston's to travel to the North End and enjoy a delicious meal, and warm, and the warm, friendly people of Massimino's Italian Restaurant.

I love this place. It has delicious food, the service is great and the atmosphere quaint and can be romantic if not crowded.

I've been here twice and had vary bland over priced meals

After arriving on time for our reservation, 6pm for an 8pm show, we were sent to the bar as is normal in many restaurants. What was not normal, after an hour of waiting for a table, we finally were seated at 7:05pm, after watching many of the people who came in after us eating. We told the staff that we had an 8:00pm show and they assured us we would not have a problem. At 8:00pm we left to go to the show. They got us out on time, HOWEVER THIS WAS WITHOUT EATING. We never got our dinner, just 2 small appetizers in 1 hour. The food at the other talbles looked good and that is why I gave it a 1. The wait staff was sorry we did not eat, but the management did not care.

This place is awesome. The food is amazing, huge portions, great atmosphere. The wait can be a bit long on friday and saturday nights, even if you have a reservation you can end up waiting, but it is well worth it! Definitely try this place.
