I love Maluken
I have been dining at Maluken for years so it feels like home to me. Great sushi chefs, excellent servers, and a decent menu. The food is fresh. No, you won't get the variety or the style of Fugakyu, but you also get reasonable prices. Maluken offers bento boxes for lunch and dinner. You can have shrimp and vegetable tempura for around $9. Comes with salad, dumplings, soup, California roll, and fruit. There's also salmon bento, terikayi (beef, pork, or chicken) bento, mackerel bento, and lots more. Only complaint that I have is the restaurant does not offer brown rice with its entrees. Restaurant does get loud on Friday and Saturday nights with the karaoke parties.

Probably wouldn't go there again
I've been there twice. The first time the service was about the worst I have ever seen. We actually started getting up to serve ourselves after waiting over an hour for our drinks to arrive. The second time the service was a bit better, but still nothing special. For those of you who appreciate good sushi, this place is not for you. It is acceptable, but certainly not very good. The prices are okay. The atmophere is fun, and they have karaoke most nights.

A Pleasant Surprise
Despite this restaurants slightly deterring outside appearance, the inside is very nice and the food is fantastic (especially the sushi). It is reasonably priced and offers a wide variety of japanese dishes. Definately worth checking out!

Good Food, Great Location
Not just a sushi bar, but all I've had there is sushi so I'll mostly comment on that. Pieces were good size and fresh, with just the right amount of rice. Some of the Maki had tempura in there as filler - watch out for that. But I'm more a Nigiri guy and everything I had was excellent. Late night, the Karaoke crowd moves in, but that can be fun in it's own right. ;) Waitstaff is friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this when you're in the Kenmore area.
