GREAT find!
The portions are HUGE. I took home leftovers, ate them the next day, and still had more leftovers for day 3! The food is excellent... Delicious tastes for decent cost. The waitress was extremely friendly & attentive and they had a charming fire going too - great experience!

phantom gourmet was wrong
I saw a great review on phantom gourmet, huge portions, great prices...went to north end just to eat there for lunch on a saturday. didnt want to carry leftovers so 4 of us decided to share entrees, well, we were not allowed to. we all had to order something, the not to friendly waiter says we all had to spend at least 7 dollars each. so we ordered 2 entrees and 2 appetizers. mozzerella sticks were frozen type, gave 6 for 8 dollars. bread was not baked there, cheap kind. not what i would expect for a so called great italian restaurant. will not be back.

Big portions don't make up for bad food
I went to college in Boston and had always heard how great this place was, so now many years since graduation I'm living in the North End and figured it was time to try the place with the amazing reputation. What a disappointment! As someone else said, the place had the ambience of a chain restaurant and the food was awful. The portions were more than two people could finish in one sitting, but doggie bags were a waste with how bad the food was. My husband got chicken alfredo and the sauce barely covered the pasta, not to mention the sauce wasn't creamy but chunky, reminiscent of bleu cheese. My chicken was dry and lacked flavor. With all the options in the North End, you are bound to find someplace with better food at a great value. Skip this place!

Best Lunch Specials!
This is my favorite place to eat lunch at in the north end. For only $6 you get a huge portion of the specials of the day. The food is great and the atmosphere is typical of a small restaurant that has too many customers.

Won't be going back.
I have no idea why this place has gotten such good reviews on here! It's only asset is its ginormous portions. Our server was not not very warm, which didn't trouble me too much, but the layout of this place is basically a bunch of card tables surrounded by lawn chairs, packed back-to-back w/ little room in between. I had the chicken parmagiana, which was huge, but overloaded with that sprinkle-on parmesan cheese that tastes like feet, and the cuts of meat were dissapointing with chewy skin. The sauce was barely there and tasted like canned tomatoes. Friend 1 ordered a burger, which had a tough consistency. Friend 2 got the linguine with clams and marinara, which had the same canned-tomato-marinara. For 13.50 for the parmigiana, I expected better; massive portions do not a great restaurant make.

Great!
This restaurant is not fancy, but the food is absolutely amazing. The menu features an option to choose 1 to 6 items (for lunch) and they bring you one plate of whatever you choose. Chicken Parm is excellent, on a bed of ziti or pasta. Waitstaff is great and perfect for lunch - in and out in 40 mins. Would absolutely recommend it!

Just like Grandma's
Whenever we are in the North End we immediately head for LaFamiglia Giorgio's. It's just like having Sunday dinner at Grandma's when I was a kid. The food is basic Italian cooking. Not fancy, but the real thing. The prices are very reasonable and the quanity of food is more than ample. The atmosphere and the staff make you feel right at home. I have yet to find a better real home cooked Italian meal in the North End.
