In response to whomever wrote on 7/9/09 you are clearly the one without the sense of humor. Your description of the White Grape martini is correct, it is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone however your description of the service is far from accurate. The first time I went to KO I had the same bartender who's humor is NOT trying to hard, but might simply might be above your comedic level. His attention to the customers, amazing drink suggestions, and offbeat hilarious nature is what keeps me and all my girlfriends attending the KO Prime happy hour. Maybe you want a bartender to simply swing drinks, but I want mine to entertain me when the other patrons are not. KO Prime is wonderful because of the service and I believe the majority of Boston agrees since it was voted Best of Boston Hotel bar last year. Cheers!!

Went with a couple girls to the bar at KO. We were just getting a couple drinks. The bar tender told us about an off the menu drink that was great! (I asked again what it was called and what was in it after I had a sip, and he said "it's top secret" or something equally weird). It definitely had vodka, white grape juice, and pear in it... but I'm not sure what it was called, so I can't recommend it! We loved our drinks and had a great time chatting, but our waiter tried FAR too hard to be funny, and it just wasn't working. I'd go back and hope for a different server.

Food was fantastic steaks were great..as well as salads, apps, sides and desserts. Unfortunately, even with a reservation we were seated 45 minutes late with nothing but a sorry . The waiter then proceeded to try and rush us with everything and was not a positive experience because of this. MAybe once the waitstaff gets their act together and can seat people relatively on time and offer something if not. Also they should realize that food alone is not the only reason people go out. WIth other great steakhouses in the area, we probably won't be back to this one.

I thought the dinning room was very nice, the host was very professional and we where seated very fast, on a busy night. I was blown away with the chop house salad, it was very very good, cold crisp and good flavors. The special app that the chef sent out was also very good a fish cake of some sort, but i coudnt tell what it was all made up of. My date and i ordered the ny strip and kobe beef both med rare, after waiting around 45 minutes we received our food, my steak was very good, no fat and all aged beef, my dates however was cold and raw. (pittsburg) i mean black and blue not med rare. Our side dishes came abbout 12 minutes later and by that time i was alreadyfull, so i would say after the $330//bill we were happy to go but probley wont go again becasue after all this is no "french laundry" and for that kind of louis xiii check you have to knock it out of the park the first time...every time!

KO Prime was very average from a food stand point, but well below par when you factor in the cost. The service was okay, however in our group of nine people five commented that their food was not cooked to order. The sides were not typical of your traditional steakhouse sides which can be shared by the whole table, however they still cost as much as your traditional steakhouse sides. Since "shareable" sides is one of the few values in ala carte dining, this was a definite negative. This was just one of the ways we felt nickeled and dimed at KO Prime. The final way came when the bill showed up at the end of the night. I've eaten at many high end steakhouses and have never experienced a steakhouse trying to make money off of...water? Wine, you expect to pay a bit more, but water? This was a bit of a shock. At the beginning of the night the wait staff came around holding bottles of Fiji (still) water and Pellegrino (sparkling) water. They individually asked people in our party if we wanted still water or sparkling water. Some preferred still while others sparkling. Perhaps it was our own ignorance and we should have asked for tap water, but at the end of the night the bill for water (which they made sure was always in our glasses) was $60. They charged us $30 for the Fiji and $30 for the Pellegrino, at about $7 per bottle! I don't mind paying for a great meal, but when the food at KO Prime was just average, this water thing just left me feeling like I had been nickeled and dimed. With all of the great steakhouses in Boston I can't recommend this "boutique" steakhouse with boutique prices.

Great atmosphere... not worth the money. We were told while making a reservation that there was a no jeans policy yet almost everyone in the restaurant was wearing them... and even hats! Steaks were not cooked correctly and sides are single serving though priced the same as the 3-4 serving size of other steakhouses. Overall if you want to go out for a great steak I say stick to the classics and stay away from the trendy new place.
