Jose's Mexican Restaurant

I went to Jose's when my friend was in town because of the great reviews it got, and our love guac & margaritas. Unfortunately, this was the first time I ever had to send back a margarita. It tasted like water. I've never had a worse drink. It came from a big mixer, and the girls clearly had no idea was in it. the place was so crowded, we had to jam up against a table while drinking our watery margarita's, and watch a drunk couple hang on each other at the bar. No chips. No place to hang. Just a bad margarita. Finally we sat down. Neither of us were blown away by our meals. Nothing about this place is memorable. Eventually, disappointed, we bolted before my husband went to bed, and made him mix us up a REAL batch of margaritas to finish the night.... I'll never return or recommend. What a disappointment.

Jose's is one of my favorite mexican restaurants. I come all the way from new york to enjoy the food. We stumbled on this restaurant trying to find some food to eat one night. The margs are amazing, the service is awesome and the food is superb. The price is also great. Its a great dive place. Guacamole is fabulous

I love Jose's. If you get to know the menu and go beyond the enchiladas, you will find some real treats. Fish Vera Cruz style is excellent. Chilli Rellenos stuffed with shrimp is great. In fact anything with shrimp is great. The staff are so friendly and the atmosphere is like a restaurant in a small village. I love that this restaurant is in a diverse part of Cambridge and that the customers are very diverse as well. Excellent value for your money!
