HT was excellent, still above average

I work nearby so I go to HT about 2-3 times per week. About a year ago I would have said its the best lunch restaurant (for the price) in Boston, period. Their portions have gotten a bit smaller, and it doesnt seem like they care quite as much. Dont get me wrong, this is still way above average, just not what it used to be. I will continue to frequent this location, because it still is awesome food.

    Best Chicken Noodle Soup!

Got their Chicken Noodle Soup and grilled cheese with oven roasted tomatoes. Came with side salad. All were superb. Can't remember the last time I had chicken noodle soup this good and with this much chicken. The oven roasted tomatoes were delicious. Thought there was a lot of food for the value. Server and person packaging were really nice. Also glad to see they have cut back some on packaging.

    yikes

If you are interested in paying top dollar, then HT is your place. The only reasonably priced thing on the entire menu is a slice of Pizza. Of course you'll have to enjoy reheated pizza because that's all you'll get.

    So Hit or Miss

Hot Tomatoes was great when they first open, but since then they have gone downhill. The quality of the food is never consistent and neither are the ingredients to most of the items on the menu. Things are often forgotten in orders and the salads seem to change depending on what items they actually have. The new salad containers are also subpar they pack everything in there so tight (since they are half the size of the old ones) that when you open it, it nearly explodes. I wish Hot Tomatoes would have tried to get it right at the North Street location before expanding to downtown as well.

Tomato soup will never be the same!

I was in Boston on business when I happened to find this local spot, doing one of the trolley tours on my downtime. I absolutely LOVED this place. It was during lunch, so the place was doing a heavy take-out business, but I thought the service was good while the food was absolutely EXCELLENT. I love tomato soup, but have not had soup like that since I left Boston. Definitely a place to visit when I return.

    Received "Attitude" from Servers

It's true - there's something wrong with the attitudes of the staff at this neat little place. The girls seem fearful or something. Just rude. The food is pretty good, but you end up paying a pretty penny if you order in.

    Unpleasant Service

Shocked at how RUDE these people were. Definitely not a place I'd recommend!!
