    good food, but pricey

The place has a fun ambience and good food. However, whether it's worth the $$ is questionable. Service could be better.

    Not what I expect

I had the Tortilla Rellenas, that wasn't too good. Too much jack cheese with the duck, can't really taste the duck. Price is ok.

    Amazing food

Dont' go to east coast if you are looking for: Extremely proper waitstaff, Quiet environment, Traditional (boring) entrees. But if you're looking for a great night out, fun atmosphere, great drinks, and amazing seafood, this is your place. I'm not a big fan of more conservative (Legals) or pretentious (Great Bay) places...ECG is usually very lively...especially on hell nights (all spicy dishes). The reviewer that talks about the bad waitstaff...maybe there is one...but i haven't had the same experience. Brunch does get a bit hectic, but that's the same everywhere. So, in summary, go here.

    Best Restaurant Ever!

I don't know what that other guy was talking about. I love this place. Great food. Great people. And that kitchen, what a bunch of party animals who know what they're doing! I love buying them beer!

    Fresh fish, poor service

I live quite close to the ECG and pop in there at least once a week - especially when I get a hankering for fresh oysters and deliciously prepared fish. At dinner, you can count on reasonably good service; but beware of brunch. While the brunch is usually delicious, the service is notoriously spotty. After invariably being seated in the tacky and dark "Lava Lounge" and told to beware of the "erupting volcano" (actually, just a grade-school level rendition of a volcano mural with goofy Christmas lights spouting from it) I am already in no mood to be the recipient of poor service...well, to be fair, it's usually one waitress. I have tolerated this for the last two months, while the service from this waitress has progressively decreased in quality, because I think the brunch is a good deal. But oh, the patience is wearing thin. I've sent messages, in the form of a lower than usual tip (because isn't that what the tip is for? Feedback in monetary form?) I've complained - and they've taken off the bill to compensate for the off-timing and other mistakes. But the biggest offense is that thought they've been made aware of the problems, they have yet to do anything about them.
