Douzo

When one of the roll I ordered tasted off to the say the least, the head waitress or hostess did not hesitate to take off my table and remove it from the bill. I was impressed by this for their ability to take responsibility and provide such customer service. Its great to see Douzo values the customer and the experience to such extent.

I go here because I like the food. Although there are a few things there that were average, the vast majority of what I have eaten there have been very good to excellent. At lunch, the special lunch sets are very good (and regularly include particularly nice big pieces of salmon sashimi) and represent a decent value. Additionally, I found the wait staff to be very pleasant, and based on the few occasions that I asked questions about the menu, very knowledgeable. The only real issue I have experienced is that at lunch they can be very slow. The wait staff typically apologizes for this but it does seem to be consistently an issue. Oh, I also like the salad topped with lobster (though if you are really picky you might want to get the dressing on the side and ask for some mirin to doctor it up but it is still good without this somewhat fussy request), the red spider maki, and sushi/sashimi (lunch special) are also good. I have had the noodle soups (also at lunch) but they seemed to have a milder flavor than I prefer but still good. Overall, a solid place to eat. Obviously, this is just my opinion (and everyone has different tastes) but hopefully you found this helpful.

This is the best sushi in Back Bay, hands down!!

Douzu is great. Fresh. Delicious. Great service. We go at least once a week and have never had an issue. The manager is top notch. The wait staff are all very friendly (actually am surprised by some of the reviews as we've never had bad service and we go there.. a lot.) The spicy tuna roll is amazing as is the snow mountain! The other entrees are fantastic too if you're not a sushi or fish lover.

If you are looking for a chic, trendy place to enjoy some high quality sushi, you've found the place. Douzo's menu has much to offer and their wine list is impressive as well. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. I can't wait to go back.

I went last night with a group of 6 and hands down great service from our waiter. Great experience had by all.

Everything at Douzo is excellent except for the service. When you call to make reservations you are made to feel as though you were intruding. Attitude amoungst the help is everywhere.
