Finding Peru in the South End

We have been enjoyong Don Ricardo, his lovely wife and their most divine waitress for years. I love the food , the plants and the inevitable warm welcome. The yucca mojo is suberb. There have been wonderful evenings of soft music that we all wish could be more permanent Don Ricardo's is a piece of South American culture in our midst..but don't tell too many people.

    Excellent

Delicious food, large portions- especially the appetizers! Love the chicken, maduros, tostones and carrot sauce. Wonderful service!

Don Ricardo will get to know us well....

We just moved to the South End and we're trying out the local restaurants. Don Ricardo is definitely going on the "good" list. We started with the guacamole which was fresh and pretty good, could have used a dash of salt. When we mixed in the homemade super spicy picante, it definitely took the guac and chips to the next level. For entree, I got the Paella and loved it. My wife got the Pescado al Vapor and also thoroughly enjoyed it.

    Love this place

It really is a mystery how this place hasn't been discovered. We fell in love with the friendly service and the excellent food. Definitely not the usual South End spot, which makes it even more special. The staff there are inviting and seemed to know a lot of their customers. I can't wait to go back. If you're looking for a trendy restaurant, it isn't for you. But they have fresh and flavorful food in a warm and inviting atmosphere. I'll definitely be back soon.

    Best guacamole

I had dinner with my boyfriend at Don Ricardo's yesterday and was surprised by the simple atmosphere, the perfect service, and the great guitarrist! It was late and we were the only two customers: a guy played his guitar for all the dinner anyway. The guacamole is the best I had in Boston.
