my favorite restaurant of all time

My love affair with the Chart House began in New Jersey a few years ago... when I recently moved to Boston, I was thrilled to find that the Chart House here is just as good as the one in Jersey! I have eaten at the Boston establishment about 6 times since I moved here in August... I have never been dissatisfied with my dish - cooked to perfection always... the wine list is fantastic... and the service is great... (sometimes too helpful!). I recently hosted my corporate holiday event at the Boston Chart House - everyone was pleased - nothing was sent back and the atmosphere was great... we were not rushed. Parking here is also a plus as they have a free valet service and a parking lot.

    Not as good as Ct

I travel to Boston all the time. This time I was by Long Warf and decided to stop by the Chart House. I have dinned at the chart house in Simsbury, CT many years ago. I had the Best Rack of Lamb in Simsbury. But Boston dissapointed me. To start my server told me as soon as I sat down " Hey just to let you know we are very busy and your food is going to take a while". I should have gotten up and left at that point. But I appreciated his honesty. My Wife and I started with the crab /avacado Mango stack and the seared ahi tuna. There was very little crab and the avacadoes needed a few more days to ripen. The tuna was good but I think the chef left his glasses at home this day because there was a huge peice of fat through the tuna. We then tried the Chopped spinach salad and the Chopped house salad. The Spinach salad would have been great if the bacon wasnt burnt and the Warm Dressing was above 40 degrees. My wifes salad was laced with pepperoncini stems and brown lettuce that was covered up with a dark balsamic vinigarette. Time for dinner, we opted to pre-order a special chocolate souflle. My wifes entree arrived 3 minutes before mine, our server explained to us " the cooked dropped it and will be a minute he didnt want my wifes entree to get cold". Once again I appreciate honesty but there has to be a limit. Okay my wifes prime rib....absolutly delicious. My filet arrived and appeared to have been weighted down on the grill with a brick. I compare it to a flat iron steak. So I ate one bite and my server noticed I wasnt eating it so he cleared it and didnt even ask if I wanted it wrapped or even if I liked it. So at this point I am very upset and he brings us our dessert and check. He didnt ask if we wanted coffee or after dinner drinks. The dessert was far from molten.
