real food, real good
The best in Boston, and that's no lie. I've been going here for almost 30 years and the quality or portions haven't changed just the prices. they have been around for almost 90 years, and there is a reason they are still in business today, great food, great people, and i can't get over the size of the breakfast.

Wonderful Old-Fashion Diner
I have eaten breakfast here for several years and I love this place. Great pancakes, eggs, etc. Frankly, I am not wild about the turkey hash, but I love everything else about the place. Super-fast service and extremely friendly. I always love to sit at the counter and watch the cooks at the grill and the waiters and waitress mange the tight quarters. Charlies is a truly authentic diner, just like thousands which used to exist all over the USA in the 1940's, 50's and 60's, long before fast food took over. Personalized service, authentic charm, nothing pre-packaged. A real Boston gem!

Don't Let The Name Fool You
Best breakfast in Boston (I'll get to the burgers later). It's crammed, it's loud, and on Saturdays you might have to share a table with a few strangers, but this family-run diner never disappoints. The Turkey Hash w/ eggs is a must, but don't plan any big meals for the rest of the day if you get it. If you are brave enough for a double header or just want lunch, go for a burger or one of the blue plate specials. They offer the burger the way it should be: cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayonaise. Great comfort food all around. Too bad they are closed on Sundays (and a week here and there for vacations), but the good folks at Charlie's need a day off too!
