A tradition in Boston's historic North End serving the tastes that made the North End famous. Cantina Italiana is a long time favorite of locals and visitors alike, as we serve up some of the best traditional Italian cuisine in Boston. Opened in 1931, Cantina Italiana is the oldest restaurant in the North End. We boast over 70 years of tradition for excellent cuisine and outstanding service. Cantina Italiana's warm and charming atmosphere gives the restaurant a relaxed setting for your dining pleasure. Nothing brings a family together like a traditional, Italian dinner. Since 1931, generations of families, locals and tourists have come here to celebrate the important moments in life: a birthday, christening, communion, graduation, new job, anniversary or retirement party. For lunch or for dinner, Cantina Italiana makes people feel right at home.

Go Elsewhere
Beware: they can take a reservation, they just can't keep a reservation. No dessert/ coffee offered. The staff was rude and play by their own rules. Too many other amazing choices in the area to waste your time, money or patience. They atmosphere is hip, but the restaraunt only has 8 tables. Food was average.

Disappointed
We knew it wasn't going to be the "best" place in the north end, but I had hoped for more. Over priced for bland tomato sauce with the chicken parm. Also, a nice chicken cutlet ruined sitting in the water that had separated from the sauce. My husbands chicken didn't come with pasta, that was an additional $8. Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else!

Very nice people!
good food, good service...ask for Stefano...most grateful to the staff for keeping safe my $300 sunglasses even tho I had waited several days to make an inquiry with them regarding the shades which I had left behind after a wonderful dining experience with my family.

Not recommended
All I have to say is that is gives the North End a terrible name, and I love Italian food. I went there because it was the only place that didnt have a wait, which makes sense to me now. I regret wasting my money there,

Great pizza!
Was visiting Boston over the weekend. The pizza was amazing! Authentic taste, just like pizzas in Italy. Drinks way overpriced, starting at $10. First time in Boston, so maybe that's just me; seems Boston in expensive. Great service, Stefano attended us well.

Rude inattentive service and OK Food
As a 10-year resident of the North End, I dine out frequently and have been to literally scores of restaurants here. It's hard to find a bad meal in Boston's North End, but Cantina Italiana ruins the experience with service that wnet from inattentive to rude. There are too many good resturants here to bother going back to this one.
