    Best in Harvard Square

I'm a local, and I've been going to the Border for ages. It's prolly my favorite restaurant in Harvard Square. Love the atmosphere, the food is excellent, (and interesting). Outstanding margaritas. Best bet: Don't go when there are a lot of tourists in the Square. Go for lunch on a weekday when it's a lot less crazy. On a Sunday afternoon during tourist season it gets crazy. Ditto a Saturday night when the college kids are in town.

    worst service ever

I just returned from the Border Cafe in Harvard Square and will never go back. The service was awful- our waitress was apparently angry that we had gotten drinks from the bar and made a snide remark (there was a wait so we had a drink while we waited for our table.) She took our order and never came back. Someone else brought our food, no one asked if we needed anything, and we sat there while she walked by a number of times but completely ignored us. I ordered an appetizer to start, but she never came back so I could order my meal. This waitress ruined our night.

    One of my Faves

You will never have a better dish in your life than the Crawfish Etouffe. Margaritas and super and the classic Country Music and Zydeco in the background make for a great aymosphere.

If this is your first Tex-Mex experience

The food is ok, but not very good. The place is loud - from patrons and from the music. There is usually a long line of tourists and teens. You get tons of soda to wash down the mediocre food. Not very authentic or carefully made food.

    Fantastic tex mex

Great tex-mex for a great price! Above all else, the atmosphere is fantastic! One of my local favorites.
