Barking Crab

This restaurant was recommend when we came back to Boston for a visit. Because we don't get it in the South we were really looking forward to some real New England seafood. I didn't check the reviews before coming and wish I had. It was pouring out and we got very wet inside! The food was just okay, service was not good because the place was packed, there weren't enough waitresses/waiters and they couldn't get through the crowds to get to the tables. The price was definitely too high for the food. Sitting at a picnic table isn't my idea of eating out, although I didn't mind other people at the same table. Everyone who works there was very nice, but it was still very disappointing. Will definitely check menu pages before eating out seafood in Boston again or go back to old favorites.

Food and service was just barely okay. The price for the food was way too high and unless you like sitting at a picnic table don't waste your time. If it is cold and/or rainy you had better bring something to cover up with.

This is definitely a place to come for a beer and appetizers. It’s a bit gritty but a great place to come and hang out with a few friends. My friends and I had the fish and chips and fried shrimp platter. Being from Louisiana, we both know a lot about good seafood and found of these selections pretty good. The service was friendly and fairly fast for Friday night.

I took visiting family members here, in hope that they could experience some fun seafood. The atmosphere was decent--but left a lot to be desired. The table was sticky and hadn't been wiped clean. Servers were nice, however, and that helped. I ordered a ceasar salad in addition to my food and was unbelievably disappointed. Don't come here for the food, the atmosphere, or the recommendations (from the Duck tours, I've been told).
