    A fare value

appetisers were good. My Family enjoyed there meals, Lobster ravaoli, veal Piccata, and chichen Francais. I had Vitello alla Saltimboca , had overly smoke flavor and poor sauce,go with the other dishes.

I'll Never Go Back To Assaggio

The food was just not good. Had veal with pasta and the veal was overcooked and the sauce was overspiced. They wouldn't accommodate another at my table by cooking vegetables in olive oil instead of butter -- saying the onions were already cooked in butter and they wouldn't cook fresh ones in olive oil. Antipasti made with bitter, yellow parts of lettuce. This place is not good, and the service is poor. Stay away. The low prices are the attraction, but I guess you get what you pay for.

    not worth the trip...

the service paled in comparison to other north end italian restaurants. the server missed the boat on standard things such as giving a taste of a freshly opened bottle of wine before pouring for the table; providing fresh cracked pepper/cheese with our meals. the appetizers were decent, but the meal went down hill from there. i orderd the veal saltimbuco and my date ordered the lobster ravioli. my meal was absolutely inedible with an over smokey flavour that made me think someone spilled a bottle of liquid smoke into the dish. the rubbery texture of the veal was unlike anything i ever had before. i have never sent food back or complained at a restaurant. but, after a couple of bites, i sent the meal back. my companion's lobster ravioli was marginially better. the lobster was fresh, but the pasta was substandard. she managed to eat 1/2 her plate. needless to say, neither of us requested doggie bags for the left overs. there are a lot great italian restaurants in the north end. the next time we head out, we will most certainly be choosing a different dining location.

    It's worth the trip

Give this place a little time and you start to see that it's not just the food, it's the experience. I've eaten here and sent many people. They love it. Italian soul food.

    What a little gem!

This is the real thing. Food is great. People are interesting. This has whatever a place has to have to make is authentic. Enjoy.
