Perfect sandwich shop
I have been here many times and have never been disappointed. I'm a vegetarian and they are always more than willing to substitute ingredients to make me the perfect sandwich. Their creative grilled cheese sandwiches are addictive and then there's the FREE oreo cookie on the way out! Also, the service is incredibly friendly and attentive. Once they discovered they were out of hush puppies after I ordered and they gave me a free pile of fries for the inconvenience. It is a little pricier than other sandwich places but the sandwiches are so much more impressive that I am happy to pay for them.

A little pricey, but dynamite sandwiches
Yes, the All Star Sandwich bar is a little more expensive than your traditional deli (a tuna melt runs just north of $8), but the quality of the food is immeasurably better. My tuna melt had buttery, grilled toast and tuna salad that's as good as homemade. Wife had the Gobbler, and though she enjoyed the tuna salad more, she had nothing bad to say about her 'wich. It delivered. Real turkey, well-dressed, and all the fixins' that made it resemble a Thanksgiving in February. The ASSB is definitely one of the best sandwich joints I've visited. Would I go back? Hell yes! As a matter of fact, I'll go there tonight, just to prove a point. As their motto says, "A Good Sandwich is like an Old Friend." And they walk that walk.

Dee-licious
I'm not really sure what the previous reviewer expected. These are some of the most creative and delicious sandwiches I've ever experienced. I do like the gobbler, though I'm particularly partial to the Texas Reuben and the Rachel. The chili is also excellent, making clever use of cilantro. I've never once been disappointed. The service can occasionally be a little slow, but that's mostly just the result of doing a good job making sandwiches, and the wait staff is remarkably kind and attentive. I've called for orders two or three times and have never failed to get an answer, but it's possible the previous reviewer called at a different time. I was also disappointed with the recent consolidation of the menu, but there's still plenty left to eat. Try going on a Tuesday for the Texas Reuben. I'm a big fan of sandwiches, and All Star has some of the best.

Caveat Emptor
This place is getting good reviews in the press, but everyone I've talked to personallly has been disappointed. In my experience, the food served bears little resemblance to the menu: for example, the "Gobbler," though the description discusses a lovely-sounding Orange Cranberry relish, mine was actually dripping with mayonaise. Not worth $8, says I. Also, they don't answer their phone consistently.
