De-lish-us
No room in this place so owner escorted us to establishment next door that he also owned. Same menu..... plus! Fantastic food & service. Eat here. You will be delighted.

great but tight
Food was awesome, got the futti Di mar, it was loaded with sea food and had great flavor. Just a little tight, but we didn't mind. Lisa was our server, she was fast and very nice

Great restaurant in the North End
I have eaten in almost every restaurant in the North End, and by far, Al Dente wins every time. Their spinach cannelloni's with almond parmesan sauce is quite literally something I would die for. There is enough of a selection to please everyone, with all the sauces, how could you go wrong?! This place is outstanding, and I will be back for every special occasion, every excuse I can find- just to eat this delicious food! The service is decent and the restaurant is small and cozy. One guy always in the kitchen pumping out everyone's food! It takes a little while to get your food, but that's because the guy makes it all fresh!! I'm telling you- Quattro Formaggi with Cavatappi pasta is hands down the best.

Ok for pasta
I would not go back. It really was' t special. The red sauce was good. The rolled eggplant was great. My seafood and pasta dish was overcooked and not much flavor. My son and his gf had lasagna and it was very good. My wife had a salmon salad that was dry.

Authentic Italian, AMAZING
I absolutely love El Dente. I travel from souther New hampshire with my girlfriends to come to this place. Although it may appear like a hole-in-the wall, the food is outstanding and the service is wonderful! I always have a nice portion of left-overs to take home which is always a plus!

We loved Al Dente!
We went with our two children, ages 9 and 12, who can be picky eaters. We all loved our meals, and devoured the leftovers the next day. It's a small, cozy setting with excellent food and very reasonable prices. They don't have a full bar, just beer, wine and cordials, and they don't serve dessert, but offered us a complementary Limoncello and directions to Mike's Pastry, another gem. The best part for us was our server, Margie. She was warm, friendly, funny and knew the menu. We can't wait to go back!

It's the best!!
This is the best Italian restaurant I have ever eaten in! We went back two nights in a row. The second night was even better than the first. The staff is warm, friendly and wonderful. We are still talking about the food, and we have been back "home" for two weeks.
